Dainty Marietta Marigold
Dainty Marietta Marigold
Sale price: $2.35

Tagetes patula. Annual, 10-15”. Dainty Marietta  plants are covered with small single bright yellow flowers with a maroon blotch in the center. Dwarf plants are covered with blooms from early summer until late fall. Grow in your vegetable garden or among ornamentals in your flower beds. Easy to grow, mass of color all season. Plants will discourage white fly if planted near tomatoes.  Single flowers attractive to bees, deer resistant, attract hoverflies which eat aphids. Good cut flower.

Planting directions: Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost or outdoors when soil temperatures are 65-70 degrees. Marigolds are somewhat susceptible to damping off so use a sterile potting medium indoors and don’t plant deeply or over water. Germination takes 7-14 days at optimum temperatures. Transplant or thin 12-16” apart.  Plants will bloom continuously summer until frost if flowers are picked frequently.
