Here's info on our shipping practices, handling fees and our privacy policy: About ordering from Nichols Garden Nursery:We begin processing orders the first working day of receival and give priority to internet and phone orders. We charge a $3.75 handling fee on all orders. There is no additional shipping cost unless we are shipping live plants. Most small orders are shipped by first class or priority mail. Heavy orders, usually five pounds or more, are shipped by UPS, priority mail or parcel post . We determine which method provides the most efficient delivery to your location. Herb Plant orders have an additional shipping charge: $6.00 for priority mail or $12.00 for UPS second day delivery. If you do not indicate a preference, we ship priority mail. Plant orders include Herb Plants, Tea Plants, Citrus and Pomegranates but not roots, garlic or bulbs. We do not ship plants, bulbs or tubers to Hawaii. Canadian Orders: Canadian customers are charged our $3.75 handling fee plus an additional shipping charge of $3.00 or 10% on orders larger than $30.00. Canadian customers are advised we do not ship corn seed, plants or bulbs into Canada as they require a phytosanitary certificate. All charges are in US dollars and we prefer credit card payment. International Orders:All orders outside the US and Canada require credit card payment. The purchaser is responsible for knowing customs regulations of their own country. We are familiar with standard practices but not the specific regulations for every nation. We do not ship plants or bulbs as they require the extra costs of a phytosanitary inspection and certificate. Additionally, live plants sitting around a customs office may not survive. International customers are charged a $3.75 handling fee and an additional shipping charge of $5.00 or 15% on orders greater than $35.00. We reserve the right to add a shipping surcharge on heavy items to reflect the true cost of shipping. International orders are shipped by air except for books which are shipped book rate. Express Delivery:If you require next day delivery please check the "Express Delivery" option on the order form. A standard overnight delivery charge is $16.00 or 20%, whichever is greater. We ship the same day if your order is received by noon Pacific time. If your order contains substantially heavy items we reserve the right to charge the true cost of delivery. Phone Orders:800-422-3985. We receive phone orders Monday-Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Pacific time. We are closed Sundays. To speed ordering it is helpful if you have completed your order form and have your credit card easily available. After hours we have a message machine, leave your name and phone number and we will return your call. Fax Orders:800-231-5306 or 541-967-8406. We can receive a faxed copy of your order 24 hours a day. Credit card payments only. Please write your fax and phone numbers on your order form. You pay less with Nichols Nursery. Just compare with other companies. For orders totaling more than $150.00 you may deduct 5% from your total. For online orders this is done automatically. The processing of orders begins as soon as we receive them. A copy of your original order is included with your order so you can check the shipment. Orders are usually shipped within one to two days of receiving. Plant shipping begins April 15 when there is strong spring growth here in Oregon. We spend several weeks shipping plants. Plants are reserved for the customers in the order in which they are received. We generally cease shipping plants during the hottest summer months and resume shipping in September for one month of fall shipping. We have fifty years experience in shipping and take considerable pride in the safe arrival of your plants. Dormant bulbs and roots are reserved for you as a back order and shipped at the appropriate planting time as indicated. Tea plants and citrus are shipped year around, weather permitting. If you are concerned about an order, please allow time for our processing and UPS or postal delivery. If you find an error in your order we want to correct it and appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Nichols guarantee: we want you to be completely satisfied with our seeds, plants, and merchandise. If anything purchased from us is unsatisfactory we will replace the item or refund the purchase price. Gift Certificates:MGC286 A Nichols gift certificate can be the perfect present for gardening friends and relatives. Send us the name and address of the recipient and the designated amount. We promptly send a certificate, a card with your message which should be emailed to us , and our catalog. Privacy Policy:We at Nichols believe that purchasing over the Internet is very secure, and this is indicated by the large numbers of businesses now accepting orders via the Internet. However, to ensure your information is secure we use only the most secure ordering methods. This involves SSL, which is a technology that encrypts your credit card information during the ordering process. Also, we at Nichols Garden nursery do not store any of your credit card information on our Internet servers. Although it might be a minor inconvenience for our repeat customers to re-enter their credit card number every time they purchase an item we feel it is necessary to insure that all transactions are as secure as possible.
