Grows 5 to 8 ft. Colorful seed heads form 24 to 36" sprays for dried arrangements or decorative brooms. Birds love the seeds. A type of sorghum traditionally used to make brooms.  Our Broom Corn contains a diverse color assortment, reds, purples, browns, yellows and greens make it extremely attractive in floral arrangements .

Planting Directions: Direct sow seeds outdoors after your last frost and when soil temperatures are between 60°-75°.  Sow seed 1/8” deep in well prepared soil and work in rich compost and/or a general garden fertilizer.  Seed beds should be kept evenly moist during germination. Germination takes about 21 days. Broom corn  needs moist soil in full sun, but will tolerate dry soil in shaded areas.  Thin plants to 24” apart.  Consider planting in an ornamental border.
